Mega Surya Production, the production house, announced the re-release and shared the re-release poster on their official X (formerly known as Twitter) page. This news has got Thalapathy Vijay's fans mighty excited as they are getting ready to celebrate one of the iconic and evergreen Tamil films on the big screens yet again. The racy commercial entertainer was directed by Dharani.

'Ghilli' will release in theatres worldwide on its 20th anniversary. In Tamil Nadu, the film is expected to take a big opening as it is releasing a day after the state goes to vote (April 19) in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.
Written and directed by Dharani, 'Ghilli' is a romantic sports action drama with Vijay, Trisha and Prakash Raj playing the lead roles. For the unaware, 'Ghilli' is the official Tamil remake of superhit Telugu film, 'Okkadu', which starred Mahesh Babu.
'Ghilli was the highest-grossing Tamil film in 2004 and also won several awards. The film was appreciated for the performances, comedy timing, songs and its racy screenplay.
Produced by Sri Surya Movies, the film was reportedly produced on a budget of Rs 8 crore in 2004 and made over Rs 50 crore in its lifetime.
